Kaepernick Demands Georgia Jail De@th Autopsy
Thehill.com Reveales that, An independent autopsy on a Georgia man who d!ed in jail in 2017 will reportedly be paid for by former NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick, according to his attorney.
In September of last year, Lashawn Thompson p@ssed away in the deplorable circumstances of the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. The medical examiner could not establish what k!lled Thompson, but he did note that he had an “extremely severe” infestation of microscopic insects all over his body.
Protests were sparked by the inhumane circumstances at the facility, and three officials resigned. The mu*der of Thompson and other stories prompted Democratic Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff to request an investigation by the Justice Department into the facility and two other county jails in the state.
For the delay in responding to Thompson’s de@th, Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat has apologized to his family, adding that the facility has been in “crisis mode.”
“The type of infestations that contributed to Mr. Thompson’s de@th is going to be a recurring problem in a jail where hundreds of detainees do not have cells and have to sleep on the floor,” Labat said.

Kaepernick said he would foot the bill for the private autopsy of anybody mu*dered by police in 2022. Sports Illustrated said the program paid for 42 autopsies in its first year.
