Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Leak: What to Expect from the Next Flagship Phone?

Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, in early 2024. The phone is rumoured to have some major upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was one of the best phones of 2023. Here are some of the leaked specs and features of the Galaxy S24 Ultra that we know so far.

Display and Design

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to feature a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display is also reported to be super bright with a peak brightness of 2,200 nits, compared to 1,750 nits for the S23 Ultra. The phone may also switch to a flat design, instead of the curved edges that Samsung has been using for years.

The phone’s frame is expected to be made of titanium, following Apple’s lead with the iPhone 15 Pro models. Titanium is a strong and lightweight metal that can resist scratches and corrosion better than aluminium. The phone’s weight is expected to be 233g, which is 1g lighter than the S23 Ultra.

Performance and Battery

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor. The chip is rumoured to have a 4nm architecture and offer up to 30% faster performance and 25% lower power consumption than the Snapdragon 888. The phone may also have up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

The phone’s battery capacity is expected to remain at 5,000mAh, which is already impressive for a flagship phone. However, the phone may use a new stacked battery approach that could make the battery last longer on a charge. The phone’s charging speed may also remain at 45W, despite some rumours suggesting a 65W upgrade.

Cameras

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to have some major upgrades in the camera department, especially for the main and telephoto cameras. The main camera is rumoured to have a new 200MP sensor (HP25X), which will have improved autofocus and pixel-binning capabilities. The sensor will still measure 1/1.3 inches in size but will be able to capture more light and detail than the current 200MP sensor on the S23 Ultra.

The telephoto camera is expected to have a new 50MP sensor (1/2.52 inches), which will replace one of the 10MP zoom lenses on the S23 Ultra. The new sensor will have larger pixels (0.7µm) and offer better zoom quality and low-light performance. The other zoom lens will remain at 10MP and offer up to 10x optical zoom.

The ultra-wide camera and the selfie camera are expected to remain unchanged at 12MP each. The ultra-wide camera will still have a dual-pixel autofocus system and a 120-degree field of view, while the selfie camera will still have an autofocus system and a punch-hole design.

Conclusion

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is shaping up to be an impressive flagship phone that will offer some significant improvements over its predecessor. The phone is expected to have a brighter and smoother display, a titanium frame, a faster and more efficient chipset, and upgraded cameras.

The phone is expected to launch in January or February 2024, along with the other Galaxy S24 models. We will keep you updated with more leaks and rumours as they emerge.
