As per the reports of wspa.com, First Baptist Church Atlanta senior pastor and creator of In Touch Ministries, Dr. Charles Frazier Stanley, p@ssed away on April 18, 2023.
“We are saddened to share that our beloved pastor, Dr. Charles Stanley, has passed away. We are forever indebted to him for his godly example, biblical teaching, and devotion to the gospel. Please join us in prayer for the Stanley family.”
Before moving on to Ohio and Florida, Stanley was the pastor of the Fruitland Baptist Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina, from 1957 to 1959.
Stanley started his 30-minute local television program, The Chapel Hour, in 1971, the same year he became senior pastor at First Baptist Atlanta. In 1978, the program, renamed In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley, premiered on the Christian Broadcasting Network and quickly gained a national audience.
After 50 years as pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Dr. Stanley retired and became pastor emeritus.
