In Sidcup, south London, on May 24, 2008, Rob Knox was f@tally stabbed outside the Metro Bar. While trying to protect his younger brother, Jamie, then 17 years old, he was attacked by a man wielding two kitchen knives.

Karl Bishop, who was 22 at the time of the incident, stabbed Mr. Knox five times. Bishop was found guilty of murder in March 2009 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for at least 20 years.

After being found guilty on four counts of wounding, he was given three further concurrent life sentences for wounding Mr. Knox’s companions.
