The cast of the famous 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is reuniting for an animated series that Netflix has ordered.
Michael Cera will voice Scott Pilgrim, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will return as Ramona Flowers. The cast members, such as Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong, are also back.

The anime series’ development at Netflix was first announced by The Hollywood Reporter a year ago. Bryan Lee O’Malley created the first Scott Pilgrim comic book series. Oni Press released six volumes between 2004 and 2010. Each volume followed the exploits of Scott Pilgrim, a slacker, and member of the garage band Sex Bob-omb. Edgar Wright adapted it for the big screen in 2010 with Scott Pilgrim vs.
The World, which detailed the story of Scott Pilgrim’s battle against Ramona Flowers’ seven ex-boyfriends. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was a critical and fan favorite despite its commercial failure.
“One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim,” said Wright in a statement.
“Since the film’s release in 2010, we’ve done Q&As, remembrances, and charity read-throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project. Until now … Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski, has conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim that doesn’t just expand the universe but also … well, watch it.”

Grabinski, well known for Are You Afraid of the Dark? On Nickelodeon, O’Malley shares the roles of showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Wright also serves as an executive producer.
The Netflix series features animation produced by Science SARU under the direction of Abel Góngora. It will have a score composed by Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese and feature songs written by Anamanaguchi. The UCP subsidiary of Universal Studio Group is responsible for this endeavor.
